Key Updates
Important details you need to know to make informed decisions about your health coverage this year:
- Open Enrollment Dates. Each year, open enrollment begins on November 1 and ends on January 15. December 15 is the deadline for enrolling in a plan with a January 1, start date. January 15 is the deadline for enrolling in a plan with a February 1 start date.
- Changing Financial Help. There are changes in financial assistance available depending on household income. We encourage you to explore these options early.
- Family Glitch. More families with employer-sponsored insurance may be eligible for financial help, including those who previously couldn’t qualify. This is due to a change in the ‘family glitch’ policies.
- Carriers in Grand and Jackson County: The carriers for Grand County are Anthem, Rocky Mountain Health Plans/United Healthcare, and Elevate Health/Denver Health Medical Plans. Elevate Health is a secondary company to Denver Health. The carrier for Jackson County is Anthem.
- Considerations for Choosing a Plan: Price, in-network coverage, and prescription coverage are essential factors that impact your out-of-pocket expenses. Ensure your primary care provider, specialists, and prescriptions are covered by the plan you choose.
- Type of Plans: Expect to see various plan types in the Grand County marketplace, including HMO, EPO, Health Savings Account (HSA), Colorado Connect, Colorado Option in all tier levels and Omnisalud.
- Peak Health Alliance Plans: These plans may offer low-cost options, but they have limited in-network providers in Grand County. It’s important to consider this when choosing a plan.
- Getting Assistance: If you have questions or need to know your health insurance options, contact us and one of our certified Health Coverage Guides can assist you. Appointments available in English or Spanish.
